Website Optimization… Venting and Frustrated.
If you paid over $2,000 each month for your website and asked to change content on a page and you were told “IF” it could be done, it would be is an EXCEPTION, would you be OK with this response?
You have to be joking. This is wrong for so many reasons. Really!
As an SEO expert I work with clients in a variety of industries. Today, I need to speak out about a real estate website optimization client that uses a third party website platform.
I have been preforming search engine optimization on the real estate website for 1 1/2 years. Along the way there have serious SEO problems uncovered with the website platform. Basically, it is not SEO friendly. Working with the vendor has proven to be challenging, frustrating and extremely time consuming. Today I have to speak out and vent…
We asked to have content changed on a lead capture page. Nothing crazy…. just text changes. I am certain that with the changes, which include stronger call to action text, the client could see a sizable increase in leads.
I was told that they may not be able to make these changes for us, and IF they did, it would be a huge exception. What? Seriously? This was their last comment.
I need to note, I do not write code or claim to be an IT guru. I am an SEO Google Guru. But when I am told over and over again from a website vendor they are unable or unwilling to make small changes that will have an enormous impact on the websites ability to rank on the search engines, this is inexcusable. I use wordpress (love wordpress!) and make changes to my website constantly so I am not clueless. Not much gets me all riled up… but the battles of making sure my client is well taken care of has really gotten out of hand.
It is critical when you build a website it is SEO friendly out of the box.
What challenges have you had with your website vendor? Do you pay thousands of dollars each month and face constant obstacles? How have you over come lazy professionals who do not want to take the time to provide you with the best service possible?
Bottom line… your website platform must be SEO friendly to achieve the best rankings. If you need advise, help or suggestions let me know. I want to help every website owner facing these similar challenges.
Thanks for letting me vent. I feel better now.
